Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga surprised me by taking its story seriously. You play a healer who never wanted to fight, dragged into a slow-burning conflict across a snowbound kingdom. The dialogue has weight, characters remember your choices, and side quests actually feed back into the main arc instead of feeling like filler.
Combat is turn-based but brisk, with a stamina system that punishes button-mashing and rewards planning a few moves ahead. Party building is where it shines, since every companion changes how encounters play out. I spent an embarrassing amount of time reshuffling my lineup before boss fights.
It's a chunky download and the early hours are slow, so patience helps. Once the party opens up, though, it's easily one of the more satisfying RPGs I've played on a phone this year.
