Winning Tide Command in the First Five Minutes
Most of my early losses in Tide Command came from bad opening decisions I didn't even notice at the time. This is a game where the first few minutes quietly set up everything that follows, and once I started treating the opening seriously my win rate climbed.
Scout before you commit. It's tempting to send your fleet straight at the objective, but knowing where the enemy is and which way the weather is turning saves you from ugly surprises. A single scouting ship early pays for itself many times over.
Protect your supply lines like they're the objective, because effectively they are. I lost more matches to starved fleets than to lost battles. Keep a light escort on your logistics and don't overextend chasing a kill.
Use the speed controls without shame. Slowing time during a tense moment is not cheating; it's how the game expects you to think. I plan flanks at half speed and let it run when things are calm.
Get these habits down and even the harder skirmishes start to feel manageable. The flashy naval battles are fun, but the boring groundwork is what wins.
